Highlander Shield

On Monday the 11th in the night from 5:30 pm, the Highlander Shield was held. The two rugby teams had a disappointing loss, but the girl’s soccer team won one nil which was very exciting for all the supporters and especially the team! Well done to everyone who participated and we hope that we get the Highlander Shield next time.

Book Week

On Wednesday, Thursday, Friday in week 5 and Monday in week 6 Miss Elliot is hosting the book fair. Many books will be available to have a look at on Wednesday and Thursday so that students have an idea what to buy on Friday and Monday. So many books will be on sale from Judy Moody to TinTin. The library monitors from year 5 are looking forward to seeing lots of kids buying books. The motto for the book fair this year is ‘Fuel Your Mind’. Another event in the book fair is the illustrating competition for years K-2 and the writing competition for years 3-6.

The winners of these competitions will be announced in a few weeks.

Pedlars Parade

On Tuesday 16th September year 6 hosted the Pedlar’s Parade.

There were so many things to do from Sponge throwing to guessing competitions.

Thank you so much Year 6 for putting so much effort into all the stalls and supplying all the food and prizes.

Goodbye Mrs Perkins!

Mrs Perkins will be leaving us as she has been offered a job as assistant principal at UndercliffePublic School. We are very exited for her but also sad as she has been teaching at our school for a very long time in which she has taught Kindergarten, year 2, year 3 and year 6. Mrs Sheryll Ward will take the place of Mrs Perkins.

Goodbye Mrs Perkins and good luck at your new school!

N.A.P Tests

During the week, years five and three have been having a busy week completing

tests for the National Assessment Program. The tests are spread across three days

and include literacy on Tuesday, comprehension on Wednesday and mathematics on Thursday. All the preparation for these tests were worthwhile.

Great work years three and five.

Cookie Thursday

Cookie Thursday has started up again and goes till the end of term 4. It is being run by the year six students and some parents. They will be selling cookies, biscuits and other delicious snacks for recess. All these foods will be selling for 50cents every Thursday. Do not feel bad if you do not get the snack you wanted. Just get to the stand earlier the next week.

Water Tanks

On Tuesday the 1st of April, four water tanks were installed. They have been funded through the Australian Government’s Community Water Grants and thanks to Water West, (the company who supplied the water tanks) they made it very easy for us to install them. We especially thank them because they were patient and flexible. Thankyou Water West and Australian Government’s Community Water Grants!
