Fund raising by P & C ensures that children have access to the latest fiction and non fiction material. Students are busy in the library as monitors, assisting with borrowing, shelving and other tasks. Older students conduct very popular story-telling sessions during lunchtime for younger K-2 students while word games and Chess are also popular lunchtime activities. Authors and illustrators are popular visitors to the library and they enrich student understanding of the process of story writing and the compilation of books. The library additionally doubles as a gallery and showcases student work, projects, and models. It is also used to host special events such as lunch time story-telling for K-2 students led by their Year 5 and 6 peers, and recently, a Father and Son night where both generations used the library resources. Avid book readers are encouraged to write reviews of their favourite books. Look for them regularly in the weekly Bulletin.
In 2005 RPS successfully gained joint funding with the NSW Department of Education to extend our current school hall. The refurbishment included a bigger stage, increased floor space and outdoor shelter area at the rear of the hall which can be used for large school functions by raising a large tilt- a - door to further increase floor space. This space will also provide an all weather play space for minor games and PE lessons. Larger storerooms for the band and sports department have also been included. The new hall has better access to the stage area for all performers including disabled access. A holding room which can also be used for drama is part of the new renovation. The new hall significantly enhances the appearance and streetscape of the Duntroon Street side of the school and permitted the re-opening of a walkway and disabled access to and from the Kiss and Drop site. In honour of our past principal Carol Richmond, the improved and enlarged hall has now been named "The Richmond Hall". Computer Room
There is one computer for every five students at Roseville Public School and our cyber-literate children can use a mouse before they can read, and by the end of primary school they are emailing friends and holding spirited debates via internet forums. Students can surf the internet, copy and paste text, insert data on to a spreadsheet and enlarge graphics. See some of the great work being done by all students on the Year group pages associated with Our Students

The Canteen was built when the hall, the library and the Admin block were built in 1994. In winter the canteen sells hot food like pizza and meat pies. In summer, lick sticks and icy milkshakes are very popular. The school canteen fully complies with the Healthy Schools Canteen Policy. The school clothing pool is located in the school grounds. It is operated by volunteer parents and open each week on Tuesday mornings from 8.30am to 9.30am. If parents can't make this time, then garments can be pre-ordered and they will be delivered to children in their classes on Tuesday mornings. There is limited amount of good quality second hand clothing available as well. The school clothing pool is the only outlet for Roseville Public School uniform items. The school has a strict uniform policy and there is an expectation that all children wear uniform items only. Coloured jackets, caps, incorrect footwear etc are not part of our uniform.
When students are sick or are injured at school they are sent by their teacher to the sick bay located in the Administration Block. Children do not generally refer themselves to the sick bay. Mrs Mason or Mrs Van Daal will contact parents in order to arrange for the students to be collected from school. We do not have the resources to care for sick or injured children. Children who require medication must have their medication administered by Mrs Mason. This requires clear parent liaison with Mrs Mason. Children who are found to have head lice will be collected from school and must remain at home until thorough treatment has occurred. Any child with a communicable disease must follow the policies as stated by NSW Health. If the Principal considers that a student requires ambulance attention, an ambulance will be called and parents contacted immediately. If the parents are non contactable the Principal will make any decision considered necessary in the best interest of the child.
